Zarqa Education and Investment Company and the Jordan News Agency signed, Monday, 9/18/2023, a joint cooperation agreement to contribute to strengthening the profession of journalism and media.
The agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Education and Investment Company, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, and the General Director of the Jordan News Agency, Ms. Fairouz Mobaideen, in the presence of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the Dean of the Faculty of Media, Dr. Amjad Saffuri, and a number of officials from the Jordan News Agency.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between Zarqa University and the Jordanian News Agency “Petra” in the journalistic and media aspects, and to enhance the capabilities of students at the university, qualify them, and raise the level of graduates.
The agreement includes training university students on journalistic work, and implementing activities, workshops and seminars in the journalistic, media and scientific fields, in addition to highlighting activities of general impact.
The President of the University, Professor Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, presented an overview of the university, its colleges, and the position the university has reached, which would not have been achieved without the support provided by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Education and Investment Company, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira.
He expressed his hope that the agreement would contribute to strengthening the practical aspect of the students of the Faculty of Media at the university, and qualifying them to engage in the labor market, equipped with professional media and journalistic work skills committed to the professional and ethical standards of journalistic work, especially since the news agency is considered the first house of expertise in the Kingdom.
For her part, Mubaideen expressed her pride in this cooperation with the Zarqa Education and Investment Company and Zarqa University, praising the level reached by Zarqa University, and the efforts made by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Education and Investment Company in supporting national institutions and the attention provided to them in all aspects.
