The Israeli occupation army imposes, at midnight, Saturday-Sunday, a comprehensive closure in the occupied West Bank, in addition to the crossings linking the occupied Palestinian territories with the Gaza Strip in conjunction with what is known as the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, according to what an army spokesman announced on Friday.
Avichay Adraee, spokesman for the occupation army, said, “Based on the assessment of the security situation and the directives of the political level, it was decided to impose a comprehensive closure on... (the occupied West Bank) and close the crossings with the Gaza Strip during the Yom Kippur holiday.”
According to Adraee, the closure will begin “at midnight Saturday-Sunday, and will be lifted at midnight Monday-Tuesday based on an assessment of the situation.”
The Israeli occupation army also closes all crossings leading to the West Bank and Gaza Strip on the occasion of “Throne Day” for a period of 8 full days, starting Thursday night - Friday, September 29, until Saturday night - Sunday, October 7, according to the official Wafa news agency.
Adraee noted, "During the closure period, humanitarian, medical, and exceptional cases will be allowed to pass after approval."
