The Arab League condemned the statements of extremist Dutch politician Geert Wilders, in which he incited the displacement of the Palestinian people towards Jordan.
In a statement today, Friday, the League considered that these statements constitute interference in the internal affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and reflect ignorance of the nature of the conflict, its history, and the global consensus on ways to settle it within the framework of the two-state solution, and express outdated racist perceptions and delusions.
The official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Jamal Rushdie, said that such statements, which do not recognize the existence of the people or the Palestinian homeland, are consistent with ideas and myths adopted by the Israeli extreme right, and that making them in this way contributes to corrupting relations between peoples, and increases levels of hatred and extremism.
The speaker stressed that those who believe in the values of coexistence and humanity must condemn such racist positions.
