Amman- Canadian Ambassador Tariq Khan and his accompanying delegation visited Jerash Governorate and met Governor Dr. Firas Al Faour and discussed with him means of joint cooperation on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by the head of the provincial council, Raed Al-Atoum, the director of education, Dr. Bassem Odaibat, and the executive director of the Greater Jerash Municipality, Engineer Ali Shawqa.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of joint cooperation between the governorate's institutions, especially the education sector and the municipal sector, with the Canadian Embassy, ways to strengthen cooperation relations and the need for developmental networking to contribute to the development of education in general, and technical and vocational education in particular, and to achieve the goals of both sides.
The Canadian ambassador praised the stage the Kingdom has reached in terms of progress and prosperity and the consolidation of the principle of the rule of law and its prestigious position at the regional and global levels, indicating the strength of Canadian-Jordanian relations and ways to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
For his part, Governor Dr. Al-Faour presented the Jordanian-Canadian relations, which were strengthened by His Majesty King Abdullah II, and which were covered by the provision of development aid to the Kingdom.
In turn, the head of the provincial council, Raed Al-Otoum, highlighted the importance of bilateral relations, and Dr. Odaibat and Engineer Shawqa praised the support and partnership with the Canadian government regarding the educational and service development dimension, in parallel with the integration of the Syrian refugees hosted by Jerash Governorate, in the local community, which had a role Main in developing the educational and service environment in the province.
At the end of the meeting, the ambassador and his accompanying delegation visited Khairat Sof's house and two schools in Jerash camp.
