Aramco has signed an agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Energy to establish a carbon capture and storage center with a potential to safely store up to 9 million tons of carbon dioxide annually by 2027, Aramco CEO Amin Nasser announced Thursday.

Nasser said that Aramco is scheduled to contribute about 6 million tons, with the rest coming from other industrial sources.
