On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, a delegation from the Turkish Higher Education Council visited Al-Ahliyya Amman University, headed by the Vice President of the Council, Dr. Huseyin Karaman, and the presidents of five of the largest Turkish universities, namely Marmara University, Ankara University, Istanbul Technical University, Hashtape University, and Gazi University. On the sidelines of an official visit to the Turkish Higher Education Council at the invitation of the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Tourism Promotion Authority, as part of the executive plan for the strategy of attracting international students to study in higher education institutions in Jordan for the years (2023-2027).
The President of the University, Professor Dr. Sari Hamdan, received the Turkish delegation in the presence of the Vice President of the University for International Relations and Quality Affairs, Professor Dr. Anas Al-Saud, where he welcomed the visiting delegation and stressed the depth of the historical relations that unite the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Turkey, expressing his happiness with this visit, which coincides with a cherished occasion, which is The silver jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein assuming his constitutional powers, stressing Al-Ahliyya Amman University’s aspiration to enhance cooperation with the prestigious Turkish universities.
For his part, the head of the Turkish delegation, Dr. Hussein Karaman, said that the aim of the visit is to strengthen and develop the partnership with the largest and most prestigious Jordanian universities, including Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the first private Jordanian university, stressing the keenness of the Turkish Higher Education Council to enhance cooperation between Turkish universities and Al-Ahliyya Amman University in a group of The programs include the Turkish language program and the Arabic language program for non-native speakers, due to the desire of many Turkish students to study in Jordan.
On the sidelines of the visit, joint cooperation agreements were signed with the five Turkish universities present, stressing the importance of enhancing ways of cooperation in the areas of joint programs, student exchange, and joint research in all specializations.
Professor Dr. Anas Al-Saud accompanied the Turkish delegation on a tour of some of the university’s facilities, during which the delegation was briefed on the readiness of the university and its most important features.
