The Media Center reports that Jordan concluded its participation in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) exhibition held in Dubai on Thursday. The Jordanian pavilion, organized by the Jordan Tourism Board, was attended by Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, General Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, Hamza Al Haj Hassan, Vice President of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, representatives from the Jordanian Consulate in Dubai, and delegates from 10 tourism companies and hotels from the Kingdom. The event took place from May 6 to May 9.
Dr. Arabiyat, in a statement released by the Jordan Tourism Board today, highlighted the exhibition’s pivotal role in supporting and developing the travel and tourism industry in the region by attracting prominent figures, experts, and decision-makers in the tourism industry from around the world. He emphasized that the exhibition serves as an ideal platform for networking with tourism industry officials and representatives globally, especially in light of positive indicators pointing towards the imminent normalization of tourism.
Arabiyat pointed out that the exhibition is one of the most significant global events for the travel and tourism sector and plays a crucial role in promoting tourism for the Kingdom. This year’s participation focused on creating attractive opportunities with international tourism sectors and collaborating with global airlines, particularly Gulf carriers, as well as travel agencies and hotels.
The participation aimed to promote Jordan as a tourist destination in regional and international markets, specifically in the Gulf region, amidst improving tourism movement to the Kingdom. Arabiyat also mentioned the marketing campaigns in the Gulf states and their positive impact on attracting tourist flow to Jordan.
Arabiyat affirmed that the Board’s focus during the exhibition was to showcase the diversity of tourist experiences available in Jordan and to explore marketing mechanisms through various tourism programs encompassing therapeutic, cultural, historical, leisure, adventure, business, and specialized conference tourism. Additionally, efforts were made to market and attract Gulf family tourism, considering the Gulf market as one of the most important tourism markets. Several marketing campaigns were launched to attract Gulf tourists and expatriates residing in those countries.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Arabiyat held meetings with Arab and foreign media to discuss the tourism marketing of the Kingdom.
The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board, also participated in the Arabian Travel Market exhibition held in Dubai from May 6 to May 9, 2024, within the Jordanian pavilion. This exhibition is a leading global event in the travel and tourism sector in the Middle East, representing a significant opportunity for networking between clients and suppliers.
Aqaba’s participation in this event is a strategic step to enhance the tourism products offered in the region and attract more Arab tourists. Several important meetings were held with leading airlines and suppliers to forge deals aimed at connecting Aqaba with Arab markets and attracting the maximum number of tourists.
In this context, Hamza Al Haj Hassan, Vice President of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority - Commissioner of Economy and Tourism, stated: “Our participation in the Arabian Travel Market is a fantastic opportunity to showcase and promote Aqaba’s tourism products in Arab and international markets. We are striving to attract more tourists and stimulate investment in the region’s tourism sector.”
He added, “We are committed to providing unique and diverse tourist experiences for visitors, working on developing tourism infrastructure, and enhancing services. We look forward to exploring new opportunities for cooperation and developing the tourism sector in the region.”
