The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced on Wednesday the approval of the Arab Cup tournament and the scheduling of three editions to be held in the years 2025, 2029, and 2033, with Qatar set to host this significant event.

During the 74th FIFA Congress held in Bangkok, the international body unveiled a series of important decisions, including the organization of the Arab Cup, which will adhere to the principle of invitational competition and will not be part of the official international match calendar.

This announcement follows Qatar’s hosting of the previous edition of the tournament in December 2021, which saw the participation of 16 teams and concluded with Algeria winning the title against Tunisia, in what was considered a preliminary trial for the 2022 World Cup.

Furthermore, the FIFA Congress approved updates for upcoming tournaments, with the first edition of the Women’s Futsal World Cup to be held in 2025 in the Philippines, while Morocco will host the Under-17 Women’s World Cup from 2025 to 2029, with seat distribution among the participating continents according to specified ratios.

Finally, the seat allocation for the Under-17 World Cup to be held in Qatar during the same period was confirmed, with the Asian partnership receiving the largest share of seats, while other continents will receive varied quotas according to the determined distribution.
