Arab leaders at the Bahrain summit on Thursday strongly condemned the targeting of humanitarian organizations and United Nations agencies in the Gaza Strip by Israeli occupation forces, obstructing their work, and the assaults on aid convoys to the Gaza Strip.
The Arabs also vehemently condemned the attacks by Israeli extremists on Jordanian aid convoys and the failure of the Israeli authorities to fulfill their legal responsibility to protect these convoys, demanding an immediate international investigation into these assaults.
The Arab leaders condemned in the strongest terms the continued brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the crimes committed against the civilians of the Palestinian people, and the unprecedented Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law, including targeting civilians and civilian facilities, using the weapons of siege and starvation, and attempts at forced displacement, resulting in the killing and injury of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians.
They also condemned the extension of the Israeli aggression to the Palestinian city of Rafah, which has become a refuge for more than a million displaced people, and the catastrophic humanitarian consequences that ensue.
Furthermore, the leaders condemned the control of the Israeli occupation forces over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, which aims to tighten the siege on civilians; this has led to the cessation of the crossing’s operation and the flow of humanitarian aid.
The leaders called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the cessation of all forced displacement attempts, the end of all forms of siege, allowing full and sustainable access to humanitarian aid for the sector, and the immediate withdrawal of Israel from Rafah.
The leaders also affirmed their continued support for the Palestinian people in all forms in the face of this aggression, calling on the international community and influential international powers to overcome political calculations and double standards in dealing with international crises, and to undertake their ethical and legal responsibilities in confronting aggressive Israeli practices, and to clearly describe them as a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
The leaders called for the activation of the role of relevant international mechanisms to conduct independent and fair investigations, and to hold accountable those responsible for the crimes committed against the Palestinian people since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
