Minister of Culture, Haifa Al-Najjar, confirmed the convening of the 38th edition of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts during the current summer. Al-Najjar, who is also the head of the festival’s supreme committee, stated to “Al-Mamlaka” channel on Wednesday that the festival will commence on July 24th.

The festival’s history dates back to 1980, when it was first launched as an initiative by Yarmouk University. Since then, it has transformed into an official event held every summer. The festival features artistic, literary, and cultural activities from various parts of the world.

The historic city of Jerash serves as the main venue for the festival’s artistic and cultural events. It is located approximately 48 km away from the capital, Amman. Notable landmarks within the archaeological site of Jerash include:
