The Jordan Tourism Board hosted the tenth annual conference for The Travel Agent Next Door (TTAND), with the participation of 300 Canadian delegates from the company.
The conference witnessed a distinguished attendance from various prominent figures in the tourism sector from the Canadian side, where the importance of cooperation between Jordan and Canada in promoting bilateral tourism was highlighted. The conference included dialogue sessions that reviewed the promotion of tourism to Jordan in Canada as a distinctive destination.
In his speech during the conference’s press conference, the General Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, emphasized the great importance of choosing Jordan as the location for this international event. He said, “Choosing Jordan to hold this conference is of high value to Jordan at this time. We appreciate the cooperation with our partners, and holding the conference at the Dead Sea is an important step amidst the current challenges. Last year, we welcomed 45,000 Canadian tourists, and this year we aim to increase the number and focus on local projects.”
He added, “The presence of 300 Canadian tourism delegates here confirms that the Dead Sea is the ideal destination for holding this conference. We cannot deny the effective role of His Majesty the King in promoting Jordan, in addition to the confidence we see in the local tourism product and the crucial role of Royal Jordanian in promoting our country.”
For his part, Flemming Friisdal, the founder and CEO of TTAND, expressed his pleasure at choosing Jordan as the location for this conference. He said, “Choosing Jordan to hold this conference reflects the important role that Royal Jordanian plays in promoting Jordanian tourism. We have found exceptional generosity and kindness in the Jordanian people, and despite the surrounding challenges, many people are still interested in visiting Jordan.”
This conference is an important step in enhancing the tourism relations between Jordan and Canada, and contributes to increasing the number of Canadian tourists to the kingdom, with a focus on developing local tourism projects."
