Benny Gantz, a member of the Israeli War Cabinet, announced his resignation from the emergency government at a press conference. In his statement to the press this Sunday evening, Gantz said that Israel’s participation in the war was for a shared destiny and not a political partnership.

He expressed his heavy-hearted departure from the emergency government today, urging Netanyahu to move towards elections as soon as possible and to form a national inquiry committee.

Gantz clarified that Netanyahu is preventing the achievement of a true victory, which is why he decided to leave the emergency government.

He called on party leaders to stand by him to conduct elections for the formation of a true Zionist national unity government, endorsing the deal proposed by Biden, which he asked the Prime Minister to have the courage to succeed.

Addressing the families of prisoners and detainees in Gaza, he said, “We failed the test and were unable to bring your sons back.”
