Since November 2023, the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza /2 has treated over 96,000 cases, in addition to providing humanitarian services to the residents of the sector, which has been under Israeli attack since October 7, 2023.
Colonel Saif Al-Din Al-Khawaldeh, the commander of the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza /2, confirmed on Monday in an interview with "Al Mamlaka" from Khan Younis that the hospital staff are in good condition and continue to provide humanitarian and medical roles.
Al-Khawaldeh added that the hospital has distributed aid to the residents in South Gaza and conducted a blood donation campaign.
He noted that since its establishment in South Gaza, the hospital has been operating around the clock, handling a total of 96,865 cases from the end of November 2023 to date.
He highlighted that the hospital has performed 848 major surgeries and 14,585 minor surgeries among the cases it has treated.
The Jordanian Field Hospital 2 is the first field hospital to enter Gaza since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7.
He pointed out that the hospital is witnessing significant turnout, serving as a medical haven for the sector, noting that it receives 1,000-1,500 cases daily.
The dispatch of the hospital follows directives from His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, continuing Jordan's efforts to support the Palestinians and provide medical and therapeutic services to patients and victims of the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The hospital consists of emergency departments, general internal medicine, intensive care unit (ICU), male and female wards, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with 41 incubators, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as a laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, sterilization room, and two operating rooms for urgent surgeries.
The hospital staff includes 145 members from the Royal Medical Services, specializing in general surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, urology, plastic surgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and maxillofacial surgery, along with administrative staff.
