A master's thesis titled "Trends and Implications of Jordanian Media Content on the Gaza War: An Analytical Study of Queen Rania's Speeches and Posts from October 7, 2023, to January 31, 2024" was discussed at the College of Media at Middle East University. The research, conducted by Maysa Hussein Ramadan, aimed to analyze Jordanian media content regarding the Gaza war, using Queen Rania's speeches and posts as a model.
The study found several key results, notably that human rights were prominently featured in her speeches, with a 50% recurrence rate. Emotional appeals were used in 40% of the content, issue framing in 33%, and condemnation in 35%.
The thesis recommended enhancing media literacy and providing accurate and comprehensive information, encouraging community and international participation in supporting the Palestinian people. It suggested improving the role of social media in disseminating information and drawing attention to humanitarian issues while bolstering diplomatic efforts internationally. The study also called for increased engagement with the audience, listening to their views and aspirations regarding the conflict in Gaza, and maintaining transparency and trust with the public.
The discussion committee included Professor Ezzat Hijab as chair, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rajabi as supervisor, Dr. Sabah Harahsheh as a member, and Professor Jamal Al-Shalabi as an external member.
