These days mark the eighth anniversary of the passing of the late Brigadier General Theeb Abdul Badr Al-Ma'ani. On the dawn of Friday, July 8, 2016, one of Jordan's loyal knights and men, and one of its prominent figures who devoted his life to God and the nation's elevation, passed away. He was truly one of the pillars of the General Intelligence Directorate in Jordan and a key founding member in 1964, dedicated to protecting Jordan's security and defending its honor and the dignity of its king.

He served his country and was loyal to its leadership. The deceased spent his life in military service and was awarded the highest Jordanian military honors of the first degree for his distinguished contributions throughout his service, which spanned from his youth to his honorable old age.

The son of Ma'an and the jewel of the south moved on after residing in and being cherished by the proud Amman, dedicating his life to ensuring its safety and defense. He loved it, and it loved him back, leaving behind beautiful memories, a fragrant legacy, and an endless contribution. His influence continues, and his legacy is profound, with his children carrying on his banner. Some of them serve as judges, resolving disputes among the nation's people with fairness, until his departure to the beloved homeland, resting in the proud soil of Salt, which he always defended. All the country was present in his great heart.

We ask God Almighty that his final journey be to the eternal paradise and its peaceful abode. May God have mercy on the nation's deceased and its heroic martyrs. Peace be upon you, the abode of believing people, and peace be upon us and the righteous servants of God. You preceded us, and we, God willing, will follow you. O Allah, do not let us be afflicted after them, do not deprive us of their reward, forgive us and them, and accept us among Your righteous servants, for Your words in the Holy Book are true: "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah; of them, some have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting, and they have not altered in the least."
