There is no doubt that Jordan is experiencing a significant phase in its statehood, particularly in the development of democratic and political life. The implementation of the royal visions and directives has begun, with His Majesty King Abdullah II instructing and commissioning Prime Minister Samir Al-Rifai through the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System. This committee has achieved the desired outcomes, including the formation of political parties, promoting women's and youth participation in political life and decision-making.
The discussion then shifted to amending the election law to align with these updates and orientations, aiming to produce a new political and partisan parliament. In the upcoming stages, the representation of political parties under the parliament dome will increase.
In the coming days, it is essential for political parties to announce their candidates and their sequential order. This will be the first significant test for these parties, as they form their lists to secure as many seats in parliament as possible, allowing them to implement their programs. These seats represent the party rather than individuals, with the party's ideology, approach, and program being the reference point. This requires consulting party advisors and specialists, leading to a unified decision to be implemented under the parliament dome.
This signifies our initial engagement in political party life, which was previously just a concept. Yes, there will be objections and differing opinions on selections, approvals, and disapprovals. However, we must acknowledge that on a global political level, errors are inevitable, and differing opinions exist. We hope that each party will correct and overcome mistakes in future stages. Political and party work is not limited to elections but is a starting point for broader political engagement across various sectors. The nation should be the focus, with a nationalistic approach that is feasible, prioritizes Jordan's security and stability, and is free from external agendas or suspicious applications that deviate from national interests.
Our goal is to achieve and implement the royal vision for modernizing the political system and engage in political life by supporting and forming programmatic parties and participating in decision-making. Party life represents hopes and aspirations, and while we are still at the beginning, collective effort and support are crucial for the success of this new process, which will have positive returns for our Jordanian nation, in line with royal messages and directions.
What matters today is the execution of the royal desire, prioritizing national interests. We are at the start of the journey, which has begun with the formation of parties, a step that required significant effort from prominent Jordanian figures. This step, which history will record, was not easy. It involved gathering thousands of citizens, focusing on youth, and advancing women's representation in party roles. This initial achievement in Jordan's statehood was driven by national efforts prioritizing public interest.
Therefore, we must prioritize national interests. This phase is crucial, and participating in parliamentary elections and voting reflects your national sense and democratic choice, contributing to the foundation of political and democratic development in your country.
The royal visions aim for the success of this phase in Jordan's statehood. I will write positively about political parties for the sake of my country, my king, and the citizens who deserve to witness and participate in democratic life. To achieve more progress, national interest must be everyone's focus.
Participate and be part of making a change. May God protect Jordan, making it a model and an example. May God protect our wise Hashemite leadership. I ask God for success in our democratic celebration on September 10th this year, so that our nation continues to enjoy security, stability, and prosperity in all fields, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. May God protect him.
