Amman, July 23, 2024: In its ongoing efforts to raise awareness about cybersecurity risks amidst the significant digital advancements occurring globally, and to promote a safe digital environment, Zain Jordan, in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Center, has launched an awareness campaign on personal data protection on the internet, targeting senior citizens in the Jordanian community.

This campaign stems from the shared vision of Zain and the National Cybersecurity Center and their firm commitment to all community members, particularly seniors, to enable them to handle potential threats and take appropriate measures to protect against cyberattacks. It is driven by the belief in the necessity of providing a safe digital environment for citizens to support digital transformation and highlight the importance of information and data security amidst the increasing cyberattacks, aiming for a more inclusive and secure digital society.

The campaign was launched via the social media pages of Zain Jordan and the National Cybersecurity Center. Zain also sent text messages to its subscribers in the target demographic, containing tips and guidelines on best practices for individuals and how to counter electronic fraud when using social media platforms, applications, mobile phone calls, and emails from unknown sources. It advises against opening fraudulent links and attachments and sharing any financial and personal data with unknown entities.

It is worth noting that Zain had previously launched, in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as part of their ongoing partnership, an awareness campaign on digital empowerment of women called "Safe Spaces," aiming to raise awareness about cyber violence and how to avoid it, ensuring women's digital rights and privacy while interacting with the digital space.

Moreover, the National Cybersecurity Center consistently launches awareness campaigns targeting all segments of society, stemming from its belief in the importance of cybersecurity awareness and the critical role every individual plays, regardless of their position, in maintaining the cybersecurity of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
