Jerash revives the spirit of "Darwish" in an artistic evening where the Lebanese musician Marcel Khalife dazzled, igniting the atmosphere amidst a large audience, making it a concert for every lover of authentic art with Khalife's voice and beautiful poetry with the poems of the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish.
On the third night of the 38th edition of the Jerash Festival, the audience at the main stage of the Jerash Festival experienced a night of committed art and expressive words presented by the musician Marcel Khalife, reminiscing his memories with the words of the poet Mahmoud Darwish, the poet Samih al-Qasim, the poet Ali Fouda, and other poets of resistance and those who wrote for the homeland.
The event was attended by the Chairperson of the Higher Committee of the Jerash Festival, Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar, the Executive Director of the Jerash Festival Ayman Samawi, and the Lebanese poet Zahi Wehbe.
Amid great interaction, Khalife presented a selection of his most beautiful songs, including "O Passers-by," reciting the first verses of the poem before singing it with his melodious voice, and "Walking Tall" by the Palestinian poet Samih al-Qasim, which had the audience singing along with him. Khalife continued his artistic evening by singing "I Chose You, My Homeland" by the Palestinian poet Ali Fouda, "Tango for My Beloved's Eyes," and concluded his artistic evening with a message of resilience to our brothers in Gaza with the song "Raise Your Spirits High."
