AMMAN – On Sunday, national boxing team player Ziad Ashish achieved a significant victory over Kazakhstan’s Aslanbek Shymbergenov in the Round of 32 of the under-71 kg category at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Ashish secured a well-deserved win against the reigning world champion, advancing to the Round of 16.
Competing in his second Olympic Games, Ashish avenged his previous losses to the Kazakhstani opponent, winning today’s bout with a score of 3-2.
In the next round, Ziad Ashish will face Japanese boxer Okazawa on Wednesday.
The national boxing team will continue their participation on Monday, with a bout against French boxer Sofiane Oumiha in the Round of 16 of the under-63.5 kg category.
