The "Colorful Yunnan Chinese Culture" troupe captivated Jordanian and international audiences with two nights of exquisite Chinese art and heritage. The first performance was part of the Jerash Festival last Friday, followed by a in Amman on Saturday.
Both nights saw large official and public attendance, enjoying the finest musical compositions and spectacular displays of China's rich cultural heritage.
On Friday night, the troupe performed a stunning at the 38th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts. Held at the main square of the ancient city of Jerash, the performance featured diverse acts, including acrobatics, opera, musical instrumentals, and dances representing ethnic minorities like the Yi, Tibetan, and Dai. The audience was given a glimpse into the diverse cultural treasures of Yunnan.
The performers from Yunnan played the famous Arabic piece "My Beautiful Homeland" using Chinese musical instruments, which thrilled the audience.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar, Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong, the cultural advisor at the Chinese Embassy, the director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Amman, Xi Wei, along with various artists, prominent social figures, and friends from different fields.
The audience enjoyed a meticulously prepared performance by Yunnan artists titled "Sweet My Country," a musical piece sung in Arabic. The troupe dedicated the piece with wishes for peace and happiness to the Arab world, particularly to the people of Gaza, sending their warm greetings from China.
The Chinese Cultural Center in Amman and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Yunnan Province organized a special joint performance at the Amman Academy Theater last Saturday. The event was attended by Prince Faisal bin Raad and Princess Dana Firas, Chinese Ambassador Chen Chuandong, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Culture Dr. Maher Nafs, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health Dr. Raed Al-Shboul, and ambassadors from South Korea, Venezuela, Chile, Thailand, and Malaysia to Jordan, along with over 300 friends from various Jordanian communities.
The performance was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience, who were impressed by the passionate dances of the ethnic minorities, the astonishing acrobatics and Yunnan opera, and the humorous interactions that brought joy and fun.
The collaborative performance of "Sweet My Country" on the flute and other Chinese instruments left a profound impact on the audience, carrying beautiful wishes for peace.
Jordanian youth joined Yunnan artists in a traditional "Dabke" dance, expressing hopes for continued friendship between China and Jordan.
The featured special performances by famous Jordanian singers Zeina Barhoum and Malek Madi. Zeina delighted the audience with her rendition of "Silk Road Dream" in Chinese, and Malek Madi energized the crowd with his song "If I Had a Son."
