Jordanian artist Issa Al-Saqqar transformed his concert at the "Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts" into a solidarity festival with the resilient people of Gaza. Since October 7th, Gaza has been facing a brutal campaign, and Al-Saqqar's act of solidarity was a powerful statement.
Known as the "Ambassador of Jordanian Folk Music," Al-Saqqar's stance was no surprise during his performance at the North Theater. The festival, celebrating the silver jubilee of King Abdullah II's accession to the throne, also showed solidarity with Gaza.
The concert, which saw a massive turnout with attendees filling the theater hours before the start, showcased Al-Saqqar's dedication to his audience, who reciprocated with loyalty. His strong connection with fans in Jordan, Palestine, and the Levant region is built on his refined art and mastery of folk music.
For an hour and a half, Al-Saqqar delivered an exceptional performance that the festival-goers, under the banner "The Promise Continues," will long remember. He captivated the audience with musical pieces alongside his band, led by artist Khaled Al-Ali.
Al-Saqqar sang for Gaza with lyrics like: "We opened our eyes to the world, and the love for Gaza lives within us." He also delighted his audience with his well-known songs, such as "Dahiya Mazhula," "Reddi Sha'ratik," "Yamma Moyel Al-Hawa," and "Khalasun Banat Al-Hara."
