Orange Jordan held an introductory press conference on the "Self-Verification e-Service" using the "Electronic Know Your Customer" (eKYC) system, which the company announced it is launching for the first time in the Kingdom. This represents a significant step in enhancing the customer experience in the telecommunications sector.
The press conference was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, along with members of the executive committee at Orange Jordan and media representatives.
Orange Jordan provided detailed insights into the new service, which comes after extensive efforts and cooperation with the ministry and the commission. This initiative aligns with the national digital transformation vision.
This service will enable customers to subscribe to and verify prepaid mobile services electronically, safely, and smoothly using approved identification documents or the national digital identity platform (Sanad). This eliminates the need for customers to be physically present at the company's stores or sales points, with the service already being implemented at several authorized sales points.
The service is an enhancement to the features offered by the "Jood" app, launched by Orange two years ago to improve the customer experience digitally. It allows customers to subscribe to prepaid Jood lines in one place by electronically verifying their identity, selecting their number and plan, paying electronically, and then obtaining an e-SIM and activating the line directly through the app.
Orange Jordan CEO Philippe Mansour praised this initiative, which reflects Orange's position as a leading and responsible digital provider. He noted that this step results from the company's continuous efforts to understand its customers' needs and the Jordanian market, enabling it to excel in competition and lead the digital scene with integrated features such as speed, efficiency, and ease of use.
Mansour added that the self-verification e-service via the eKYC system represents an advancement of the service, primarily launched to reduce electronic fraud and theft by verifying customer identities. This illustrates the fast-paced changes in the technological landscape and Orange's commitment to keeping up with these trends and changes.
It is noteworthy that the new service, launched at several sales points across the Kingdom, offers the opportunity to conduct transactions online and complete authentication processes safely and more effectively, allowing customers to perform them from anywhere and at any time.
