The extensive platform provided by the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts this year for Jordanian artists, in its 38th edition currently ongoing, is a great opportunity for our singers to capitalize on and reap the benefits of participating both in the media and artistically.
The festival's announcement to dedicate its activities to celebrating the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Abdullah II's ascension to the throne, and to solidarity with the people of Gaza who have been facing genocide since October 7th, was an opportunity for Jordanian singers to prove their artistic prowess. This comes especially as the southern theater in Jerash remains closed and in the absence of major Arab stars, the festival management has opened its stages to showcase Jordanian artists to the Arab audience amid extensive media coverage by local outlets.
The Jerash Festival continually supports Jordanian artists in all their specializations. Over 11 days, the festival served all members of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate, supporting them both financially and morally, presenting them to the large audience, and placing them in front of the media to further introduce their art, songs, and music. This has been a role the festival has played since its inception but has expanded and grown under the management of Executive Director Ayman Samawi.
Thus, the festival has not fallen short in supporting Jordanian singers, providing them with both material and media support, and creating an opportunity for them to showcase their creativity. We are now awaiting the results that the artists themselves can achieve and hope they seize the opportunity to further highlight their talents to the audience.
