This year is not like previous years for Sakher Abu Anzeh. This steadfast Salt native, Arab by nature, patriotic by instinct, and Jordanian by upbringing, feels deeply affected by what is happening around us. He has been overwhelmed with sadness for the past ten months, and it has intensified with the absence of his dear loved ones, Abu Sakher and the kind-hearted Umm Sakher.
As every year, a family member, Ahmed Al-Masry, takes the initiative to celebrate the birthday of the founder and chairman of the model journalism company with its branches "Ram Al-Shahed Agency, Al-Mala'eb, Jordan Plus, Al-Rai News, Al-Midan Al-Riyadi," Mr. Sakher Abu Anzeh. This annual symbolic tradition is to celebrate the friend, colleague, teacher, and father. However, it truly ignited emotions in the absence of our colleague, Sand Al-Abadi, as mentioned by "Abu Muath" in his brief speech. These are the same feelings that dominate our hearts with sympathy, pain, and shyness for what is happening to our people in Gaza, from whom we draw energy, optimism, love, courage, pride, and strength.
A symbolic gathering brought together Abu Muath's family with the Al-Shahed journalism family, including its administrative and journalistic staff, to congratulate their stalwart, unyielding Sakher, who never turns away someone in need and fulfills any request. This stubborn and harsh man in his rights, gentle in his dealings, towering in his profession, keen on his success, firm in his prestige, elegant in his appearance, his anger is affection, and his indifference is his weapon. Mysterious in his nature, magical in his essence, you never know how he can unravel you with a word or even a look and convince you even if you are on the opposite side of what you are thinking.
Although it is a happy memory, it reminds him of all the hope it holds. The memories remain present, the majesty of Abu Sakher and the tenderness of Umm Sakher continue to feed the nostalgia of childhood. Mustafa and Ibrahim remain in the memory. The feeling of a father preoccupied with thinking about the future of his children remains, even if they have grown strong and become pillars like Muath and Saad. Thinking of Mira and her kind husband, Falah, as he is the tree that shelters her. Thinking of the grandchildren, Sand, Zaid, and Naya, and how to make them happy. And most importantly, how to continue the extended love story with the flower of the house and its pillar, Umm Muath, the companion of the journey, the holder of the days, and the torch of success.
This is Sakher Abu Anzeh, a black box whose "password" no one possesses, nor can any human decipher his code. He remains a unique and distinctive person who built his empire with his arm, sweat, intellect, and his own unique school of thought.
