U.S. President Joe Biden stated that he is not confident there will be a peaceful transfer of power following the presidential election scheduled for November.
In an interview with CBS News set to air on Sunday, Biden said, "If Trump loses, I am not at all confident" that the transition will be peaceful.
He added, "He means what he says, and we don't take him seriously. He means it when he says if we lose, there will be bloodshed," referring to former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump's comments.
In the context of the election race, Trump stated that he could win the historically Democratic state of New York.
In a phone interview with Fox News, Trump said that Vice President Kamala Harris's decision not to choose Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, as her running mate, could cost her influential Jewish votes in New York, according to him.
Trump considered Harris's choice "shocking and highly offensive to the Jewish people and to those who want security."
He added that "any Jew who votes for the Democratic Party should undergo a mental examination because the Democrats are very bad for the Jews."
According to Trump, assuming the presidency in the United States is particularly dangerous, especially as he seeks to be an active president who secures the country and builds a strong military.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz launched a fierce attack on Trump in their first joint appearance.
At a campaign rally where she introduced Tim Walz, Harris said she knew people like Donald Trump, adding that her previous work as a prosecutor allowed her to track different types of criminals.
In his first speech after being chosen, Tim Walz accused former President and Republican candidate Trump of being a man who sows division and only cares about serving himself. He affirmed that the upcoming election will determine the direction the country will take.
