Amman - The Board of Directors of the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Exporters and Producers discussed numerous issues facing the agricultural sector and the flow of agricultural goods to domestic and international markets.
The meeting, held at the Chamber's headquarters, focused on the major challenges faced by the agricultural sector, importers, and exporters, and the proposed mechanisms to overcome these challenges through collaboration between the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the relevant official bodies.
The Chamber's President, Khalil Al-Hajj Tawfiq, emphasized the importance of concerted efforts with all concerned parties to support the production and export of vegetables and fruits to foreign markets. He stressed that the agricultural sector significantly contributes to achieving food security, noting that some challenges may arise during operations, which must be promptly acknowledged and addressed in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Chamber, and the relevant authorities.
Al-Hajj Tawfiq affirmed that the Chamber fully supports trade unions and business associations, considering it a safe haven for every trader in the capital, Amman. He called for genuine vision and cooperation between both sides to develop and organize everything necessary to advance the agricultural sector, protecting farmers, traders, and consumers alike.
He also highlighted that the Chamber has open communication channels with all Arab and Islamic chambers of commerce, asserting the potential for networking between exporters and these chambers to enhance cooperation, exchange information about importers and exporters of vegetables and fruits, and organize joint food exhibitions.
Meanwhile, the Association's President, Mazen Hammarnah, underscored the need for cooperation with all relevant parties to maintain external markets and increase exports. He highly appreciated the Chamber's support and its commitment to overcoming challenges and fostering ongoing partnerships with all trade unions and associations.
He called for increased cooperation and coordination between both parties, holding intensive meetings, and maintaining open communication channels with the Chamber and the relevant bodies to address the most prominent issues and challenges and provide appropriate solutions to advance the agricultural sector.
The attending Board members of the Chamber emphasized that the Amman Chamber of Commerce is putting all its capabilities and facilities at the service of the sector's members. They pointed out the possibility of cooperation in the areas of training and education for the Association's general assembly members, organizing specialized courses and workshops, especially in the fields of e-marketing, logistics management, taxation, and other areas.
