Amman - Hundreds of settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday, under the protection of Israeli occupation police.
Local sources reported that approximately 800 settlers entered Al-Aqsa, performing Talmudic rituals, provoking worshippers, and dancing within the mosque's courtyards.
The settlers entered the mosque in large groups through the Moroccan Gate, touring the mosque's corridors and courtyards.
The occupation police prevented worshippers from remaining in the courtyards while the settlers performed their provocative rituals.
Video footage showed that Al-Aqsa Mosque was turned into a military zone following the settlers' storming.
On Monday, 411 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa under the protection of Israeli occupation police, and 370 settlers did the same on Sunday.
The occupation police turned the Old City of occupied Jerusalem into a military zone, deploying hundreds of officers in close proximity, particularly at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. They tightened military measures at the mosque's gates and those of the Old City, imposing restrictions on worshippers' entry.
These incursions follow calls by extremist settlers for a large-scale storming of Al-Aqsa in commemoration of the so-called "Destruction of the Temple."
