Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, called on the UN Security Council and all members of the international community to take immediate and effective measures to stop Israel's illegal actions that violate the historical and legal status quo of the holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Safadi stated that Israel, as the occupying power, is legally responsible for protecting the historical and legal status quo. He urged the Security Council to adopt a binding resolution that would prevent Israel from further violations and escalation at Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif, stressing that this must be done before it is too late.

Safadi warned that the situation is already explosive and that the hate-driven ideology seeking to alter the identity of the mosque could spark serious consequences. He emphasized that Jordan will take all possible measures, including legal actions in international courts, to help protect the holy sites in Jerusalem and their Arab, Islamic, and Christian identity.
