The Jordan national football team is set to face Palestine at 5:00 PM (Amman time) on Tuesday in Malaysia, as part of the second round of the decisive phase of qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Head coach Jamal Sellami expressed the team's readiness, noting in a Monday press conference that while he respects the Palestinian team, which has talented players, he has great confidence in Jordan's ability to achieve the desired result.
“We’ve moved past the 1-1 draw with Kuwait in the first match, addressed some weaknesses, and enhanced the positives from that game,” he added.
The team held its final training session on Monday at the match venue, showing full preparedness under Sellami’s guidance.
Captain Noor Al-Rawabdeh affirmed the team’s readiness to give their all in the match and secure a result that meets expectations. "We aim to win and return to Amman with the three points. Our loyal fans, who have always supported us, are our source of strength and motivation to perform at our best,” he said.
Jordan is placed in Group B of the third and final round of 2026 World Cup qualifiers, alongside South Korea, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, and Kuwait.
According to the qualification system, teams are divided into three groups of six. The top two teams from each group will directly qualify for the 2026 World Cup, while the teams finishing third and fourth will advance to the fourth round of the qualifiers.
