Amman – A number of citizens were martyred and injured following Israeli airstrikes on several areas in the Gaza Strip early Wednesday morning.
In Khan Younis, 13 people were martyred, and several others wounded when Israeli warplanes bombed a house belonging to the Qara family in the town of Khuza’a, east of the city. Some of the wounded were transferred to the European Gaza Hospital. A fisherman was also martyred after being targeted by Israeli naval forces off the coast of Khan Younis.
In Jabalia, north of Gaza, 9 citizens, including three children and two women, were martyred, with others still missing, following an Israeli airstrike on a house belonging to the Najjar family.
In the Nuseirat refugee camp, central Gaza, 4 citizens were martyred and 11 others injured after Israeli forces targeted a house belonging to the Abu Atiwi family in Block C of the camp.
Israeli warplanes also launched airstrikes on the al-Zaytoun neighbourhood, southeast of Gaza City, and a house near the Mufti land area, north of the Nuseirat refugee camp. Israeli artillery shelled northern areas of Nuseirat and the southwestern parts of Rafah city, in southern Gaza.
Israeli Apache helicopters opened fire on homes in Khan Younis, while Israeli ground forces fired heavily towards the al-Zaytoun and al-Sabra neighbourhoods of Gaza City.
Since the aggression began on October 7, 2023, 41,020 people, mostly women and children, have been martyred, and 94,925 others have been injured. Rescue teams continue to face immense challenges in reaching thousands of victims still trapped under rubble or in the streets.
