Amman, 18 September 2024: Zain Jordan and Red Bull announced the launch of the 14th edition of the "Red Bull Car Park Drift" championship in Jordan at a press conference held today at the headquarters of the Jordan Motorsport Federation. The event was attended by Lebanese drift and rally champion Abdo Feghali, along with a number of professional and amateur drifters from Jordan, as well as a group of journalists and media representatives.
The championship events will kick off on Friday, 20 September, at the Jordan Rally Arena at the Dead Sea, featuring a selection of Jordanian drifters with an audience of motorsport enthusiasts. The event promises a thrilling atmosphere, showcasing exceptional driving and car control skills as competitors vie for the championship title. The competition will see a large number of professionals and amateurs aiming for the title, with the winner earning the chance to represent Jordan in December 2024 at the global finals in Nizwa, Oman. The global event will feature over 30 competitors from the region and beyond, including Moayad Youssef, last year’s champion, and the winner of the 2024 championship.
Tariq Al-Bitar, Executive Director of Media, Communications, Innovation, and Sustainability at Zain Jordan, expressed pride in Zain's long-standing strategic partnership with Red Bull, which has seen the company sponsor all Red Bull events and championships in the Kingdom. He noted that this championship is part of ongoing efforts to promote drifting in Jordan, support local talent, and fuel young people's passion for motorsports.
Al-Bitar reiterated Zain’s commitment to supporting events that contribute to Jordan’s tourism sector and promote the Kingdom as a hub for sports. He also emphasized the company's dedication to encouraging various forms of sports among youth as part of its responsibility towards them and its ongoing contributions to the sports and youth movement in the Kingdom.
Lebanese drift and rally champion Abdo Feghali, who delivered a stunning performance with his car during the press conference, said, "Being in Jordan and participating in this championship fills me with pride, as Jordan and Lebanon have long been pioneers in this sport. The updates and modifications made by participants specifically for this championship are impressive, along with the art of driving and car control amid various challenges and obstacles every year. I always reiterate that Jordanian drivers enjoy a distinguished reputation in this sport among competitors from other countries."
Zaid Bilqaz, CEO of Jordan Motorsport, praised Red Bull's significant role in organizing the Red Bull Car Park Drift championship in Jordan, which supports emerging talents and new champions in drifting races through its strategic cooperation with the Jordan Motorsport Federation.
He added, "We support the Red Bull Car Park Drift 2024, in which 20 competitors from the 2023 Jordan Drift Championship have qualified to participate. This enhances the talents of Jordanian racers and offers the winner a chance to compete in the global round of the Red Bull Car Drift championship in Oman."
Bilqaz also thanked Zain Jordan, the strategic partner of Jordan Motorsport, for its deep belief and significant role in developing young talents and nurturing their abilities through its support of motorsport racing.
