The event, spanning three days, serves as a platform for leaders, decision-makers, and experts to shape the future of integrating technology across various sectors, industries, and organizations. This year’s event focuses on how businesses can harness the power of AI and how countries can maximize the benefits of intelligent digital transformation.
In his keynote speech, "Paving the Way for Comprehensive Digital Intelligence," Huawei's Deputy Chairman Eric Xu highlighted the importance of leveraging AI advancements to accelerate development in various countries. He shared Huawei's insights, strategies, and experiences on how to ride the AI wave, which is becoming the most crucial and impactful technology for the future of industries and businesses.
David Wang, Huawei’s Executive Director and Chairman of ICT Infrastructure, unveiled a series of new AI solutions aimed at deeply integrating digital technologies across industries. He emphasized that the Fourth Industrial Revolution, driven by smart and digital technologies, is poised to elevate productivity to new heights. He further noted that innovation is key to addressing the challenges and opportunities brought about by this transformation, and that a robust digital infrastructure will be essential for creating a bright future for all.
A major announcement at the event was the launch of the Global Digital Index (GDI), which tracks the key elements of building digital economies. Huawei, in partnership with IDC, developed this new index to reflect the growing importance of digitization, which is now viewed as the core driver of future economies, surpassing traditional connectivity. The index evaluates new digital infrastructure components such as computing, storage, cloud, and green energy.
One of the most notable findings of the index is that every $1 invested in ICT results in an $8.3 return in the digital economy of the investing country. Wang stated that Huawei is committed to further refining the Global Digital Index, making it a valuable tool for the development of the global digital economy.
Additionally, Huawei announced its goal to train 10 million digital professionals by 2030 as part of its effort to build a thriving global ecosystem of digital and smart technologies. The company also released findings from a global study on smart industrial digitization, featuring 100 case studies from over 20 industries to guide countries in their digital transformation efforts.
The event concluded with a special evening dedicated to Huawei’s global partners, celebrating their achievements and awarding standout contributors for their exceptional efforts in advancing the digital era.
