Argentina defeats France and wins its third World Cup title

The Argentina national team defeated the French national team by penalty kicks in the final match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar, Sunday at Lusail Stadium, and won the World Cup for the third time.

French player Kylian Mbappe scored the third equalizer against Argentina, after the goal scored by Argentine striker Lionel Messi against France, the defending champion, in the second extra period of the final match.

The "Tango" team advanced in the 23rd minute, after the match referee awarded him a penalty kick; Following a mistake by Osman Dembele against Angel Di Maria inside the area, Lionel Messi translated it as a goal, raising his tally to six.

And Di Maria himself returned to add the second goal for Argentina in the 36th minute, after a series of wonderful passes that Messi started from the middle of the field and ended with a cross from Alexis McAllister, which Di Maria successfully followed up against Hugo Lloris.

Ten minutes before the end of normal time, France narrowed the difference with a penalty kick, which was translated by its star, Kylian Mbappe, after a mistake by Nicholas Otamendi on substitute Randall Kolo Mwani (80).

A minute later, Mbappe scored a wonderful goal with a volley, equalizing the numbers (81) and raising his tally to seven goals.
