Amid the surrounding regional tensions, Jordan is passing through a delicate and sensitive phase due to the volatile circumstances in our region. In such difficult times, it is crucial for all of us to prioritize the nation’s interests above all else and avoid any internal disputes or conflicts that could weaken our unity and further complicate the challenges we face. Any internal discord, regardless of its scale or nature, can negatively impact us politically, economically, and socially.
Jordan stands as a model of stability and moderation in a region plagued by crises. This stability is no accident but the result of several factors, including the wisdom of the Hashemite leadership and the awareness of the Jordanian people. Therefore, maintaining this stability requires us to unite and stand together behind the nation and the Hashemite leadership, working together to shield Jordan from any internal or external threats.
In light of the current regional circumstances, national unity becomes even more critical to bolster Jordan's resilience against all challenges. Any internal rift, no matter how small, could—God forbid—lead to catastrophic consequences for the country and its citizens. We must always remember that our strength lies in our unity and that any attempt to sow discord within our society must be met with determination and awareness.
A recent example, which unfortunately continues to dominate public discourse, is the statement by the Islamic Action Front (Muslim Brotherhood) regarding the Dead Sea incident. Despite the initial misstep in their statement, the group retracted it and clarified their stance in a positive and responsible manner. As our local proverb goes, "He who returns from a mistake is as if he never left." This retraction was a step in the right direction, preventing any escalation or exploitation of the error.
This isn't a defense of the Brotherhood, but it’s important not to nitpick or exaggerate mistakes. At this sensitive juncture, we should focus on moving forward and avoid discussions about holding the group or its supporters accountable for this mistake. Prolonging debates on this issue could fuel internal conflicts and spark tensions between the Brotherhood's supporters and its opponents. It is essential during this period to maintain our unity and steer clear of any debates that might lead to unnecessary escalation.
One of the most crucial steps we must take at this time is to raise societal awareness about the dangers of internal division. We must understand that any internal disagreement, whether political or social, will have negative repercussions on the country’s overall situation. Jordan is at a stage where collective vigilance and responsibility are necessary, and we must avoid actions that external forces could exploit to undermine the nation’s stability. This requires us to stay away from political disputes or score-settling that could worsen the internal situation.
We need to stand united behind the Hashemite leadership, working together to safeguard Jordan’s stability. No one can deny Jordan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, with the Hashemite leadership consistently being the foremost advocate for Palestine and its people. However, the leadership also prioritizes Jordan’s security and stability above all else. As Jordanians, it is our duty to rally around this leadership and support its efforts to ensure the country's safety, stability, and prosperity.
Ultimately, the challenges we are currently facing call for greater national unity and a collective effort to protect Jordan from any internal or external threats. Avoiding internal disputes and unnecessary escalation is a national obligation during this sensitive period. We must always put the country's interests first and remain ready to confront challenges with a unified spirit.
