Amman - The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Middle East University, Senator Dr. Yaqoub Nasser Al-Din, sponsored the graduation of a training program on women and the pillars of social peace, in collaboration with the Public Security Directorate. The program lasted for three days and involved the participation of 25 women representing the directorate, as well as several ministries and public and private institutions.
This training program is an extension of the strong partnership between the university and the Public Security Directorate. It explored the vital role women play in building a more secure, stable, and forward-looking society.
In this context, Senator Dr. Nasser Al-Din, during the graduation ceremony, which was attended by Colonel Mohammed Obeidat, Assistant Director of Preventive Security, Major Omar Khalayleh, Head of the Community Peace Center, Professor Dr. Salam Al-Mahadin, President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Din, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, and several experts, emphasized that women have played a pioneering role in nurturing generations and instilling human values. He stressed that today, more than ever, we must focus on their role in facing contemporary challenges that threaten social peace, particularly extremism.
Dr. Nasser Al-Din highlighted the importance of empowering women in various sectors, noting that sustainable social security cannot be achieved without their active participation in societal and political decision-making. He also emphasized the urgent need for the integration of efforts among all state institutions to ensure that women are true partners in crafting solutions and facing challenges.
On his part, Colonel Mohammed Obeidat praised the strategic partnership between the Public Security Directorate and the Middle East University, stressing that this partnership serves as a model for fruitful cooperation in raising societal awareness about the role of women in addressing security challenges.
Obeidat added that holding this program reflects a collective recognition of the importance of uniting national efforts to combat risks associated with extremism, stating that the current challenges require us all to be more aware and cohesive. Through partnerships between security and academic institutions, we can build a society capable of confronting extremism and promoting the values of coexistence and dialogue.
The training program focused on several topics such as online recruitment, female recruitment, the dangers of online games on youth, and the impact of hate speech and rumors on social peace. This highlights the importance of addressing these challenges by uniting national efforts and raising societal awareness.
