Amman, 28 October 2024 – Reflecting its commitment to social responsibility and support for the health sector and local communities, Zain Jordan has taken on the exclusive telecom sponsorship of the "Universal Health Coverage: Strategies and Implementation" conference. Held under the patronage of Prime Minister Faisal Al-Fayez, the conference began on Saturday, organised by the Jordanian Health Insurance Association, and included public health experts, specialists, and representatives from both public and private health insurance sectors.
Zain’s sponsorship aligns with its mission to support healthcare in Jordan through the provision of advanced digital technology solutions that meet the needs of individuals and institutions. The company is also committed to fostering strategic partnerships with the public sector and civil society organisations to improve service quality in the healthcare sector.
The conference, attended by a distinguished group of experts, doctors, and health specialists, featured discussions on the current status of universal health coverage, the role of different sectors in achieving it, financial challenges, and strategies to enhance health coverage in Jordan.
Secretary-General of the Association, Dr Fawaz Al-Ajlouni, said the conference seeks to realise King Abdullah II’s vision for universal health coverage through integrated health policies that position Jordan globally. He emphasised the focus on optimising financial resources within the health sector, strengthening partnerships among healthcare stakeholders, and advancing a unified health insurance framework to enhance service efficiency and reduce resource dispersion.
Zain Jordan places significant emphasis on healthcare development in the Kingdom, in line with the third Sustainable Development Goal (Good Health and Well-Being). Among its contributions, Zain has funded the refurbishment, development, and equipping of Princess Basma Comprehensive Health Centre in Ras Al-Ain, Amman, with a donation of JOD 220,000 in collaboration with the “Himmetna” initiative. Additionally, Zain remains a longstanding sponsor of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, backing the "Towards Life" campaign and supporting high school students receiving treatment at the centre.
