Tunisian Minister of Trade and Export Development, Samir Obeid, welcomed a delegation from the Jordanian Duty-Free Company during their current visit to the capital, Tunis. The delegation was led by Chairman Ayman Al-Mufleh, CEO Engineer Haitham Al-Majali, and Board Member Mukhaymer Abu Jamous, with the attendance of Jordanian Ambassador to Tunisia, Abdullah Abu Rumman.
The Tunisian Trade Minister expressed his appreciation for Jordan and its role in the Arab region, highlighting the distinguished fraternal relations that exist between Jordan and Tunisia at the levels of leadership, government, and people. He affirmed that the prospects for cooperation between the two countries are limitless, given the significant economic, social, and cultural similarities. He promised to remove any obstacles that may hinder further trade exchange and economic cooperation in all areas.
Ayman Al-Mufleh, Chairman of the Company, stated that the visit aims to leverage the successful relations between Tunisia and Jordan, building upon them to open new avenues for trade exchange, facilitate pathways, and accelerate the presence of Jordanian products in Tunisian markets, as well as Tunisian products in Jordanian markets.
Al-Mufleh added that the ongoing meetings between the Jordanian delegation from the Jordanian Duty-Free Company and relevant Tunisian authorities are "positive and have promising early signs," following the signing of agreements that contribute to enhancing exchange between the two countries.
He expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Industry and Trade and the Minister of Finance in Jordan for their understanding of the efforts to develop trade exchange between the two countries and for facilitating all government procedures to implement what was agreed upon during the meetings.
Jordanian Ambassador to Tunisia, Abdullah Abu Rumman, who closely monitors all economic activities between the two countries, confirmed that the visit of the Jordanian Duty-Free delegation is a timely and positive step that could expand the trade exchange base and open the Tunisian market to Jordanian products across all sectors while simultaneously allowing Tunisian products access to the Jordanian market.
