In a bid to enhance cultural and academic collaboration and support multicultural learning, Amman Al-Ahliyya University, represented by the Faculties of Arts, Sciences, and Hospitality and Tourism Management, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Amman.
The delegation was received by the university’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Ahmed Hamdan; the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Professor Dr. Hanan Ibrahim; and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dr. Ashraf Al-Jahmani.
The Chinese delegation, comprising prominent figures, included the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Director of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Amman, Ms. Shi Wei; the Centre’s Assistant Director, Mr. Ahmed Musleh Al-Aqrabawi; as well as the head of the delegation from Yunnan Province, Professor Wang Xiao Liang; Dr. Ma Yunhua from the Yunnan Institute of National Arts; and Professor Bo Dingjin, a specialist in cultural heritage handicrafts.
This collaboration marks a pioneering step towards promoting multicultural learning, aiming to develop culinary skills for students in Hospitality and Culinary Arts and improve Chinese language communication skills for students enrolled in the newly introduced English-Chinese language major at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, starting in the 2024–2025 academic year.
This meeting underscores the university’s commitment to offering innovative training programs across various professional and academic fields, fostering international cultural exchange, and engaging students in diverse activities that prepare them for success in a competitive global environment.
