Under the patronage of Dr. Maher Hourani, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, and businesswoman Reem Hourani, the university’s Allied Medical Sciences Faculty organized a cancer awareness event titled “What If.” Held at the university's Nizar Qabbani Hall in collaboration with the Rajwa Foundation for Counseling and Training, led by Mrs. Fidaa Al-Omleh, the event emphasized the importance of psychological support for cancer patients and the need to educate the community about this illness.
The event, supervised by Dean of the Allied Medical Sciences Faculty, Professor Dr. Ghaleb Araikat, drew a large audience of students and faculty members. It featured various educational activities focused on cancer awareness and ways to combat the disease. The university’s Optometry Department also conducted eye exams for child participants with cancer, while the Hearing and Speech Center offered hearing and speech screenings. The university has pledged to follow up with children’s medical needs, providing glasses and hearing aids if required.
Several companies participated in an exhibition held on the university grounds, including Jordan Dairy/Al-Maha, Revolution Ladies Gym, Sebamed, Soskin, Al Ameed Coffee, Shoman Medical Equipment, Al-Eman Medical Depot, Medical Distributor Depot, Jump Academy, and the International Eye and Vision Health Association (IEVA). The university also presented symbolic gifts to the children and awarded appreciation certificates to participants, underscoring its commitment to community service and providing necessary medical guidance and examinations.
