With over 50 sites across the Kingdom and a range of comprehensive digital programs implemented under the umbrella of its Digital Centres (ODC), Orange Jordan has empowered more than 27,000 participants with essential digital skills. These efforts culminated in the company winning the "Digital Skills Development" Award in the category of companies driving sustainable societal impact.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 10th MENA ICT Forum 2024, which marked the launch of the ICT Innovation Awards. The forum witnessed significant participation from companies, reflecting advancements in technology and innovation and highlighting efforts toward sustainable development. These awards are expected to boost competitiveness within the sector.
Orange’s achievement aligns with the community-driven, sustainable impact of its integrated programs focused on innovation and partnerships. These initiatives include digital community centres, women’s digital centres, coding academies, programming schools, Orange Coursat, digital fabrication labs, BIG by Orange, innovation hubs, and incubators such as the Orange AI Incubator. Collectively, these platforms provide interactive learning spaces that enhance participants’ technical and digital skills, preparing them for employment, entrepreneurial journeys, or entry into the rapidly evolving ICT sector.
The award recognises Orange's fulfilment of key criteria, including fostering sustainable impact through innovative solutions and leveraging technology to serve communities. An international panel of judges evaluated the companies’ adherence to these standards before announcing the winners.
Notably, the awards also highlighted the achievements of Phytobase Solutions, a startup supported by Orange’s AI Incubator. The company secured the Agritech Innovation Award for its IoT- and AI-driven agricultural technology system, further showcasing the role of Orange in fostering innovative solutions across various sectors.
