Amman, November 2024 – Innovators and entrepreneurs participating in Orange Jordan's community programs, under the umbrella of its Digital Centres, showcased their projects and services at the 10th edition of the MENA ICT Forum, organised by the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (INTAJ).
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Engineer Sami Smeirat, visited Orange’s booth, where he explored the groundbreaking innovations and projects developed through the company’s Digital Centres.
Among the showcased initiatives was the "MARS-JO Rover," designed and manufactured at the Digital Fabrication Lab in Irbid for educational purposes. The rover simulates space exploration and studies Martian environments, reflecting a commitment to fostering innovative learning experiences.
Orange also highlighted its ongoing support journey for entrepreneurs, providing participants from its BIG by Orange accelerator and the AI Incubator an opportunity to exhibit their projects at Startup Village Arabia. This platform facilitated connections with investors and experts while introducing the public to community-focused technological solutions.
The forum also featured cutting-edge projects like the Virtual Hospital, developed at the Innovation Hub in Amman. This initiative integrates augmented reality into healthcare services, aiming to enhance patient care through personalised and efficient medical solutions, saving time for both patients and doctors while improving the overall healthcare experience.
Orange’s Summer Challenge 2024 participants also presented their innovations, including:
ARFL, which offers solutions for filling potholes and is set to compete in the Middle East and North Africa competition.
SAVERBOT, a rescue assistant robot aiding in locating survivors during disasters.
Deep-Sea Explorer, a pioneering solution for exploring and photographing underwater worlds using advanced aquatic drones.
As a Telecommunications Partner, Orange sponsored the MENA ICT Forum 2024, held over two days at the Dead Sea. The event, attended by approximately 3,000 regional and international participants, revolved around the theme: “Integration in Innovation: Exploring the Future of ICT in the MENA Region.”
