Under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Arab Potash Company and US-based Albemarle Corporation announced a major expansion project for Jordan Bromine Company, valued at over $800 million. The agreement, signed today in the presence of US Ambassador Yael Lempert, aims to enhance production capacity for bromine and specialised derivatives over the next five years.
The partnership reflects the deep economic ties between Jordan and the United States. Signatories included Eng. Shihadeh Abu Hudeib, Chairman of the Arab Potash Company and Jordan Bromine; Dr. Maen Nsour, CEO of Arab Potash; Netha Johnson, Albemarle’s Executive VP of Global Specialties, and Samer Asfour, General Manager of Jordan Bromine.

Prime Minister Hassan highlighted the expansion’s alignment with Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision, expecting it to bolster sustainable growth, jobs, and enhance Jordan’s position in global chemical markets. He noted that the Arab Potash Company, a key player in Jordan's industrial sector, has been pivotal in strengthening the national economy.
The project, he said, underscores the royal vision of King Abdullah II to prioritise economic development and attract diverse investments, particularly in mining and chemical industries.
