Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) President, Khalil Al-Haj Toufiq, met with Dubai Chamber of Commerce Director-General, Mohammed Lootah, to discuss boosting mutual investments, fostering partnerships, and exchanging expertise—particularly in digital transformation. They aim to institutionalize the relationship between the chambers.
Al-Haj Toufiq emphasized ACC's commitment to forging a new chapter with Dubai Chamber, leveraging its advanced capabilities to enhance trade partnerships, exchange delegations, and share data on investment opportunities and exportable goods and services. The collaboration also aims to organize joint economic events, bringing together business leaders and companies while adopting a forward-looking approach aligned with technological advancements.
During the meeting at Dubai Chamber headquarters, Al-Haj Toufiq highlighted the delegation's visit to learn from Dubai’s expertise in organizing the Dubai Shopping Festival. This experience could help establish a similar summer shopping festival in Amman.
He underscored Jordan's ambitious, royalty-backed economic vision, new investment law, and incentives that position the country as a gateway to regional and global markets, supported by free trade agreements with numerous international trade blocs. He invited Dubai Chamber and Emirati business representatives to visit Jordan to explore investment opportunities and network with local business leaders.
Lootah proposed establishing a Jordanian-Emirati Business Forum to enhance trade and investment cooperation, particularly in digital trade, IT, renewable energy, and other sectors. He encouraged ACC to share detailed investment ideas and feasibility studies for dissemination among Dubai Chamber’s members.
He also urged leveraging Dubai Chamber’s global network, which includes 33 offices in unconventional markets like Africa, to promote Jordanian goods and services. Establishing representative offices in Dubai could further facilitate this outreach.
Both sides agreed on the need for continuous engagements between business leaders to foster new partnerships and directly exchange investment opportunities. Lootah also highlighted Dubai Chamber's support for entrepreneurship through training in IT and digital transformation and announced plans for a specialized exhibition for digital startups in October to connect them with potential investors.
He noted that the chamber's expanded international presence aims to attract investments and facilitate trade deals, particularly in hospitality, renewable energy, and other key sectors.
