The government has commenced the second phase of the gradual increase in water and sewage tariffs, effective from the start of this year, targeting various consumption brackets.

Under the second phase:

The second tier (7–12 m³) will see a 5-piaster increase per cubic metre.

The third tier (13–18 m³) will see a 10-piaster increase.

The fourth tier (19–24 m³) will see a 5-piaster increase.

The fifth tier (25–30 m³) will see a 10-piaster increase.

Tariffs will remain unchanged for the sixth tier (31–42 m³) and seventh tier (consuming more than 42 m³ monthly).

For sewage tariffs:

The fixed rate for the first tier will remain 23 piasters.

A 1-piaster increase per cubic metre applies to the second tier.

A 20-piaster increase applies to the third tier.

A 10-piaster increase applies to the fourth tier.

Tariffs remain unchanged for the fifth, sixth, and seventh tiers.

Second tier: ~31%

Third tier: ~22%

Fourth tier: ~10%

Fifth tier: ~4%

Sixth tier: ~3%
