His Majesty King Abdullah II welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza on Thursday.

In a statement on the X platform, His Majesty said: "We welcome the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza and urge the world to redouble efforts to alleviate the tragedy caused by the war by enhancing humanitarian response."

He added, "We appreciate the role of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, and stress the need to sustain the ceasefire."

His Majesty further affirmed, "Jordan remains steadfast in its support for our brethren in Palestine, continuing aid efforts and working towards peace."
