The President of Amman Ahliyya University, Professor Sari Hamdan, met with students from the Cosmetology Department in the presence of Professor Ghaleb Oraikat, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Dr. Youssef Al-Ubainee, Head of the Cosmetology Department, Dr. Safwan Al-Adwan, and several faculty members from the department.
During the meeting, Professor Hamdan emphasised the importance of academic and practical excellence for the students of the department, stressing the need to benefit from the curriculum and develop practical skills, which are integral to preparing them for the job market.
He also highlighted the university's commitment to providing a comprehensive educational environment equipped with the latest technologies and tools in cosmetology, aimed at enhancing students' abilities and preparing them to compete in the labour market.
Dr. Safwan Al-Adwan, a consultant in dermatology, venereology, and cosmetology, and a faculty member in the department, spoke about the significance of graduates showcasing high-level skills in the field. This, he noted, would reflect positively on the reputation of the graduates and underscore the importance of having cosmetology degree holders working in dermatology and cosmetology clinics and centres.
Professor Ghaleb Oraikat, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, discussed the future vision for the cosmetology programme. In addition to the advanced equipment currently available, further state-of-the-art equipment will be introduced in the cosmetology laboratories upon the directive of the university president to ensure the highest training standards in line with labour market demands.
He also revealed the university's plans to establish a master's programme in cosmetology to provide students with opportunities to pursue postgraduate studies in the field.
The students expressed their gratitude to the university administration for its continuous efforts to develop their academic programmes and provide practical training opportunities that help refine their skills and achieve their career aspirations.
The meeting concluded with a dialogue between the university president and the students, during which he listened to their comments and answered their queries.
