Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan directed the team reviewing the Audit Bureau’s 2023 report to address all violations cited, rectify them in compliance with governing legislation, and proactively resolve potential future infractions.
The Prime Minister also instructed the necessary legal actions, including referring significant violations to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission and the judiciary, with public announcements for transparency.
These remarks came as he received the 2023 Audit Bureau report from its head, Radi Al-Hamadin, on Monday. The meeting included Abdullah Al-Adwan, Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs and head of the review team, and Dr. Khair Abu Sa’ilik, Minister of Public Sector Modernisation.
Hassan emphasised the government's commitment to addressing the report's findings decisively, monitoring compliance to uphold integrity and transparency within Jordan’s public administration. He praised the Audit Bureau’s independent role and efforts to oversee public funds and performance.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to implementing the Parliamentary Financial Committee’s recommendations in accordance with constitutional mandates. Following the report’s receipt, immediate corrective and preventive measures will be taken to avoid future violations.
Hassan stressed improving institutional performance by activating internal oversight units and enhancing auditing practices in ministries and public entities. He called for specialised training programs for staff involved in procurement, auditing, and building permit transactions to address issues before they occur.
Audit Bureau Chairman Radi Al-Hamadin highlighted key aspects of the report, noting that violations have decreased in 2023, reflecting the effectiveness of the national oversight system and regular corrective measures.
The review team, chaired by the Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs, includes high-level officials and meets regularly to address and rectify violations promptly.
