The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre at Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated in the closing ceremony of the 2024 Entrepreneurship Hackathon, organised by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the European Union.
The event featured the announcement of the top 100 innovative ideas as part of the StartupJo initiative, focusing on vital sectors such as tourism, education, green environment, and agri-tech.
Among the top 100 ideas was the Jo Ventures project, developed by Youssef Al-Zuweiri, a student from the Faculty of Business at Al-Ahliyya Amman University. The project will be incubated for six months to develop it into a successful entrepreneurial venture contributing to the national economy.
Professor Hadeel Al-Yaseen, Dean of the Graduate Studies Faculty (and Advisor to the President) and Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre at the university, stated that this participation reaffirms the centre’s pivotal role in supporting creative students and fostering their spirit of innovation. She highlighted the provision of an enabling environment to nurture their ideas and transform them into actionable projects.
She also emphasised that this event underscores the importance of partnerships between universities and national and international institutions in supporting entrepreneurship and driving development in Jordan.
