Melania Trump's elegance turned heads during Donald Trump's presidential inauguration, despite her decision to forgo well-known fashion brands.

The First Lady's outfit was hand-sewn in New York City by American designers Adam Lippes and Eric Javits.

Her wide-brimmed hat added a distinct touch to her look, even though it completely concealed her eyes.

Lippes expressed his honour, stating, "It was a privilege for my atelier in New York to design for Melania, celebrating the beauty of American democracy. Her outfit was crafted by some of the best artisans in America."

Javits also shared his pride in his handmade creation, revealing that only 8% of the hat's stitching was machine-sewn. "No other hands touched it before it was handed to Hervé Pierre, Melania's personal stylist," he added.

Breaking from tradition, Melania chose simplicity and monochromatic tones over bright colours to stand out, drawing inspiration from European haute couture.
