Palestinian sources said Israel has decided to suspend the release of Palestinian prisoners until further notice.

An Israeli official told Reuters that Israel ordered buses transporting prisoners slated for release to return them to prison.

Israel’s Channel 13 reported that the decision came in response to footage of detainee handovers in Khan Younis earlier today.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned what he called "shocking scenes" during the release of three captives, including two Israelis, from Gaza.

“I am deeply horrified by the shocking footage of our hostages being released. This is further proof of Hamas’s cruelty,” Netanyahu said in a statement.

The Israeli military confirmed that seven captives—two Israelis and five foreign nationals—were handed over to the Red Cross on Thursday.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement transferred Israeli captives Erbil Yehud and Gadi Moses to the Red Cross in Khan Younis, while Hamas handed over Agam Berger in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

The release is part of the third batch of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
